The first menstruation in a woman’s life is referred to as menarche , this could happen between the ages of 10 to 15 with most (the average) girls having theirs around age 12. It involves bleeding from the uterus at regular intervals. The end of menstruation is termed menopause , this usually happens between the ages of 45 to 55. Menstruation is therefore defined as the cyclical or monthly flow of blood and shedding of endometrium including mucus, some enzymes and unfertilized ovum. So, what really happens?   • Measles, a highly infectious vaccine-preventable disease, remains one of the main causes of childhood mortality, leading to an estimated 450 deaths each day worldwide. 
  • Rubella is an infection transmitted in airborne droplets when infected people sneeze or cough. It is usually mild when experienced in childhood and young adults worldwide. 
  • As of 2020 & 2021, 88 and 52 cases of measles respectively were reported in Ghana.
  • Measles is a highly contagious viral disease.
  • In 2020, only 79% of children in Ghana received the measles and rubella (MR) vaccination
